Top Farmer's Markets on Long Island

#1. Port Washington Farmers Market
It’s always hopping on the town dock in Port Washington, but it’s especially lively on Saturday mornings when local farmers, artisans, and other vendors pitch their tents for the weekly farmers market. 

It’s the only 100% organic market in New York State. Southold’s Demetra’s Bio-Farm is the market anchor, and you’ll also find stalls selling everything from fish, pasta, flowers, and bread to olive oil, honey, gluten-free baked goods, and other artisanal food and personal care items. Don’t leave without sampling our three favorite market must-haves: a freshly baked organic blueberry muffin, goat cheese, and organic coffee.

#2. Glen Cove, Deep Roots Farmers Market

Stock up on essentials (and a few treats, too) while you soak up stunning views of the Long Island Sound at the Deep Roots Farmers Market in Glen Cove.  We’re big fans of the Mello Munch Granola and the local honey at Dom’s Honey — and we never leave without a take-home treat from Baked By a Chef Dog Treats. After shopping, check out the playground down the road near the roundabout, walk along the promenade, or stop for a pint at Garvies Point Brewery and Restaurant.

#3. Huntington Village Farmers Market

You’ll find fresh fruits and veggies, specialty foods, and unique crafts, and can even get your knives sharpened at the Huntington Village Farmers Market. While you’re strolling through the market, crunch on a pickle from Horman’s Best Pickles, where third-generation pickle guy Nick Horman sells a selection of briney eats and drinks, and be sure to grab a freshly baked artisanal loaf from Orwasher’s Bakery.

#4. Northport Farmers Market
Rain or shine, the bustling Northport Farmers Market is the go-to spot for locally grown and harvested fruits and veggies and artisan foods. Grab a freshly brewed coffee and some beans from Gentle Brew Coffee, the best pillowy soft pretzels, or an authentic Argentinean empanada, then stroll over to the marina to watch the boats bobbing in the harbor.

#5. Oyster Bay Market

If you’re checking out the town of Oyster Bay, try to time your visit for a Sunday when the farmers market is in full swing. You’ll find a great selection of seasonal produce along with freshly made sandwiches, house plants, and — yes — oysters.

#6. Rockville Centre Farmers Market
Get to know your farmers while you browse the stands at the Rockville Centre Farmers Market. It offers all the typical farmers market goodies and more — smoked meat, CBD oil, and you can even get your dog groomed at the on-site Planet Pooch mobile grooming van! When it’s a little chilly out, we like to warm up with a mug of hot cocoa from the Peace, Love and Hot Chocolate stall and a slice of gooey banana bread (there are tons of flavors to choose from) from the Banana Bread Baking Company.

#7. Roslyn Farmers Market
Kombucha, gyros, and fresh caught seafood are just a sampling of the goodies you can find at the Roslyn Farmers Market at Christopher Morley Park. After shopping, check out the 98-acre park with a dog run, hiking trails, and sprawling playground or visit the historic village, nestled in the hills of Long Island’s Gold Coast.

#8. Long Beach Farmers Market

There’s corn, heirloom tomatoes, and other farmers market staples galore at the Long Beach Farmers Market—but you’ll also find fresh-caught seafood, authentic Greek yogurt, and #1 Zagat-rated ravioli in Brooklyn on offer here. Afterwards, head to the nearby public library or let the kids blow off some steam at Magnolia Playground, right off the boardwalk.
